Post-Mass Announcement Submission Guidelines
At St. Gertrude, we do everything possible to ensure that the focus of the liturgy remains fixed in the right place for the duration of Mass. We also know that a long litany of post-Mass announcements is a rather unwelcome thing for many parishioners.
Therefore, we limit our post-Mass announcements to a total of five and include announcements about the following items (in order of priority):
This means that we will not include announcements for the following items:
If you would like to submit a request for a post-Mass announcement, please follow these guidelines:
St. Gertrude Church reserves the right to accept or reject submissions based upon space limitations or concerns about the content. Though we do the best we can to respond to each submission, we might be unable to respond to each request due to volume.
Therefore, we limit our post-Mass announcements to a total of five and include announcements about the following items (in order of priority):
- any changes to the liturgical schedule (Mass, confession, adoration chapel, etc.)
- big, all-parish events (feast day celebrations, parish picnic, etc.)
- special one-time things (special speaker or event)
- kickoffs for events and registrations (faith formation registration, etc.)
- coffee and doughnuts / Catholic 101 happening after Mass
- specific ministry events as space allows
This means that we will not include announcements for the following items:
- anything that happens monthly (altar server training, rosary social, Dominican Rite Masses, etc.)
- people/groups/ministries handing out things after Mass
If you would like to submit a request for a post-Mass announcement, please follow these guidelines:
- limit content to two or three sentences
- submit content to bulletin@stgertrude.org by 5 p.m. on the Tuesday prior to the weekend for which you would like the announcement
