Eucharist
The Eucharist is the “sum and summary” (CCC 1327) of the Christian life. All of the other sacraments and ministries of the Church are ordered and directed toward it. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, ordinary bread and wine become the bread of eternal life—the true Body and Blood of Jesus Christ.

Celebrating the Eucharist
First Holy Communions are typically celebrated during the Easter season, but other arrangements can be made as needed. Our evangelization team will work with you to determine the most suitable time to receive this sacrament.
Children in our Sacramental Preparation program or enrolled at St. Gertrude School will receive First Holy Communion at a special Mass in the spring.
Communion to the Sick and Homebound
Are you or a loved one unable to attend Mass due to illness or being homebound or in the hospital? Our priests and lay ministers are available to bring you Holy Communion. Please call the parish office at (513) 561-5954 to request Eucharist.
